What is considered a grassroots venue?
A grassroots venue typically refers to an independent space that supports emerging artists, local talent, and community-led events, particularly in electronic music.
How do I apply?

Will the application be available in different languages?
Yes, available in Turkish, Hungarian and Georgian.
Is there a fund limit per application?
Yes, the limit is €15,000.
What is the Miller x Beatport Grassroots Venue Fund?
It’s a collaborative fund offering up to €15,000 per venue to help electronic music venues thrive, and continue supporting local scenes.
Why was the Venue Fund created?
To support independent venues facing unique challenges like limited resources, rising costs, and infrastructure issues, in Hungary, Turkey, Georgia and Australia.
Who is eligible to apply?
Independent legally registered venues that are vital to their local electronic music scene and align with the mission of cultural support and sustainability.
What types of projects will The Grassroots Venue Fund support?
Projects like equipment upgrades, infrastructure improvements and accessibility enhancements.
What specific equipment can be funded?
Equipment including sound systems, DJ decks, microphones, stage monitors, and recording equipment for live or streamed sessions.
What infrastructure improvements are covered?
Stage or seating renovations, soundproofing, ventilation upgrades, and accessibility enhancements like ramps and accessible restrooms.
Will the recipient need to pay tax on the €15,000 granted?
Applicants should be aware that the receipt of these funds may have tax implications for their organization. Each recipient is responsible for ensuring that their proposed budget accounts for any tax obligations they may incur in accordance with their operations and local tax laws.
How are applications reviewed?
A diverse panel from Beatport and Miller Genuine Draft evaluates applications based on alignment with the fund’s mission, potential local impact, and clarity and feasibility of the proposal.
Who makes the final decision?
Final decisions are made by senior team members from The Beatport Group and Miller Genuine Draft.
How many venues will be selected?
One venue will be selected per region (Hungary, Turkey, Georgia and Australia).
When can venues apply for the Miller x Beatport Venue Fund?
Applications are open from July 30th to August 27st, 2025 for Hungary.
Georgia, Autralia and Turkey will open at a later date.
What are the project timeline requirements?
To be eligible, the proposed work must start any time in 2025 and be completed by January 31, 2026.
How will Beatport and Miller Genuine Draft support my project?
Once selected as a fund recipient, you’ll be supported by the Beatport team throughout your project. A dedicated team member will be your main point of contact, available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help you successfully deliver your project from start to finish. We aim to support you to the best of our ability with industry contacts and additional inhouse support through our networks.

This mini-series will spotlight each of the fund recipients across various countries, showcasing how they are using the support to strengthen their local music scenes. We will learn how the fund is helping to maintain and support local grassroots venues and strengthening community infrastructure.
